HeadlinesMagazine.com is committed to building and maintaining a newsroom that reflects the diversity of the communities we cover. We believe that diverse perspectives improve our journalism and are essential to accurate, fair reporting on human rights and social justice.
When contributors are recruited, we will seek a broad range of perspectives, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, people of color, women, people with disabilities, and journalists from the Global South. The current publication has no open staff-recruitment process or newsroom hiring program to represent as active.
As the contributor structure develops, participation standards, support, and feedback routes will be documented before they are represented as active programs.
We are committed to covering communities that are often ignored or misrepresented by mainstream media. This includes:
We use inclusive language in our reporting. We respect individuals' chosen pronouns and names. We avoid outdated or offensive terminology unless quoting a source directly, in which case we provide context.
This policy will be reviewed when the contributor and editorial-review structure changes. Any future progress report will identify its scope and evidence.
